We're still sick, sick, sick over here. Genoa keeps doing this adorable little wussy baby version of a cough, too, so whatever I have, she caught. I tried making an appointment with her pediatrician, but when I asked if the doctor would be able to take a look at me while I was there, they told me no. Screw that!
Alex and Genoa have different pediatricians and I don't even HAVE a doctor. I haven't been seen by anyone other than my OB for three years. I'm sure he'd be happy to take a look at me, but he'd be checking the wrong hemisphere. Like hell I'm going to drag all our asses to three different doctors! After calling everyone on our insurance list, I finally found us a family practitioner who agreed to see me and the baby this morning while Alex is at preschool. I figure if the girl and I end up needing medication, I'll take the boy to his pediatrician tomorrow.
Meanwhile, my lovely (and not sick) husband is getting sworn in today. I wish I could've been there, but the only thing worse than dragging two sick kids to two separate doctors, would've been dragging two sick kids on an airplane. I planned out his whole trip and he invited his mom and brother to go with him on a five day whirlwind Washington tour. We're not-so-secretly trying to tempt the both of them into moving up there with us.
Although Dave's mom might be difficult to convince. She called me yesterday morning and exclaimed "I just checked the weather and it looks like it might rain the whole time we're there!" And, um, yeah. What exactly were you expecting? This is probably not the best time of year for Washington tourism, but I'm glad Dave will have his family there to witness him taking the oath. It's a really big accomplishment; I've never seen him work so hard on anything. I really wish I could be there to see it myself, but the mere thought of traveling with two kids makes me want to jump off a bridge. How am I going to handle MOVING there?! I haven't even allowed myself to think about the logistics yet. What a nightmare.

Please keep us posted on the move to Washington. We are trying to find a job for my husband in Washington hoping to move there in the next year (and are also trying desperately to convince our parents to move with us!). My 2 kids are just 2 weeks apart in age from both of yours so I'll be eager to hear how it goes.
Hope you're all feeilng better soon!

What about me?

Sorry you are both feeling icky. If only I could get my daughter SIL and grandson and 'coming soon!' to move up here with a view across the Strait to Victoria I would be in heaven. They are in yucky old Houston and gong to stay there.
Congrats to Dave.

This is definitely not the best time of year for Washington tourists. But I'm selfishly looking forward to you guys moving here. This is my last month of gainful employment, then I'm going to be stuck at home with a new baby. I need some mom-type friends to get my lazy butt out of the house!

Yeah, I've got the 'epitoozy' (as my grandmother called it) here as well. Except it's more like 'swamp head', I feel so croupy. But the kid has not caught it, knock on wood.
Your tiny Bob Vila stole my heart, he is so cute.

Heh... I'm trying to get OUT of WA. Wanna buy my house?

My sister and her family are in the middle of moving from Monterey Bay to Nashville. She not only has a 2 year old, but she's in her last first/early second trimester with baby #2.
They were smart. They left the baby with her husband's sister and are driving their stuff to TN. The sister and the baby will fly out once they're ready!

Oh, how exciting! The deed is done.
Yeah, they did come JUST at the start of the rainy season. I'm loving it so far myself. ;)

Let us know what you decide about moving and if I can help at all with houses, neighborhoods, law firms, etc...

Okay, deep breath!
Moving 'aint so bad. In fact, if it were an acceptable career, I would totally be doing it for a living.
Also, think how exciting it is for Alex ... a new house, new neighborhood, new kids @ school ... fun, fun, fun!
And maybe it will give you a chance to consolidate doctors.
See, look on the bright side. :)

Hey - we should plan a Welcome to Washington party because it seems like a lot of your commenters live here! I'm happy to host or help plan.
Also, this is the first rainy season I've had a preschooler that needs to get a lot of energy out. I've decided to invest in a pair of rain pants from Lands End, and just go on bike rides and to the park in the rain.
Hey, Northerners have snow pants and go out in the freezing cold, so we all have to adapt! I'll let you know how it goes.
